<p>Ing. ;Justice ;Ohene-Akoto, ;a multiple ;award-winning Ghanaian ;Professional Engineer ;and ;postgraduate researcher, has been appointed as a ;Future Energy ;Leaders ;at ;the World Energy Council.</p>



<p>The FEL-100 programme consists of 100 energy professionals from across the globe engaged in national, regional andinternational activities and events that promote the well-being of individuals, safeguard the planet within the energy transition debate, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero emissionsby 2050.</p>

<p>Ing. Ohene-Akoto was crowned Rising Star in Ghana’s Energy Sector at the Ghana Energy Awards 2020 and also emerged a Forty Under 40 Achiever at the Forty Under 40 Awards 2020. He ;is ;the National ;Vice-President of the World Energy Council’s Future Energy Leaders Ghana (FEL Ghana) ;and ;an Electrical Engineer at the Volta ;Aluminium ;Company Limited (VALCO).He ;is ;Co-Founder ;of ;Maiseville ;Groupe ;Company Limited.</p>



<p>As an industry player and a researcher in academia, ;Ing. Ohene-Akoto helps bridge the gap between these sectors. ;He has ;in ;the past ;served as a member of the Technical Committee for the International Conference on Advance Computing and Innovative Technologies in Engineering, an IEEE international conferencein Greater Noida, India.  ;He has worked on a number of research projects which have been accepted in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. ;He ;belongs to a number of professional affiliations which includes the International Associations of Engineers (IAENG) and the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE).</p>



<p>Ing. Ohene-Akoto ;spearheaded the World Energy Council’s Issues Monitor for Ghana in 2018. ;In the same year, herepresented the Ghana Member Committee of the World Energy Council at the World Energy Week Milan 2018 in Italy where he attended the Executive Assembly, African Regional Meeting and other stakeholder meetings to contribute and engage in several discussions of Global interest. ;</p>



<p>He ;was a keen member of the Ghana Taskforce that historically launched the Future Energy Leaders Ghana (FEL Ghana) in 2017 which saw Ghana’s ;Minister of Energy and other relevant stakeholders in the Ghana ;Energy sector coming to support the launch at the Ghana Energy ;Commission. ;He liaised with stakeholders, such as ministers of state and Chief Executive Officers, in the energy sector and gained their support and partnership in the launch. ;Ing. ;Ohene–Akoto also coordinated the procurement and production of the logistics to ensure the successful launch.</p>



<p>In 2018, ;his company, ;Maiseville ;Groupe ;Company Limited was adjudged winners of MakeInAfrica2018 contest (Off-Grid Energy Access) in Rome, Italy. In December 2018, ;MaisevilleGroupe ;Company Limited became ;2nd runner-up in the ;Youth ;Connekt ;contest in ;Kigali, Rwanda. ;The company ;came up with a product called Solar Pulse ;in 2018. Solar Pulse is a modern day portable solar powered power hub for rural small enterprises and businesses ;providing safe, green, affordable and reliable energy access to last mile rural population in developing countries.</p>



<p>He has a Master of Philosophy in Electrical and ElectronicsEngineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in view. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university. He is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of South Wales, UK.</p>
