Ghana’s Ing. Justice Ohene-Akoto appointed Future Energy Leader at the World Energy Council

Ohene-Akoto was crowned Rising Star in Ghana’s Energy Sector at the Ghana Energy Awards 2020 and also emerged a Forty Under 40 Achiever at the Forty Under 40 Awards 2020&period; He&nbsp&semi;is&nbsp&semi;the National&nbsp&semi;Vice-President of the World Energy Council’s Future Energy Leaders Ghana &lpar;FEL Ghana&rpar;&nbsp&semi;and&nbsp&semi;an Electrical Engineer at the Volta&nbsp&semi;Aluminium&nbsp&semi;Company Limited &lpar;VALCO&rpar;&period;He&nbsp&semi;is&nbsp&semi;Co-Founder&nbsp&semi;of&nbsp&semi;Maiseville&nbsp&semi;Groupe&nbsp&semi;Company Limited&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>As an industry player and a researcher in academia&comma;&nbsp&semi;Ing&period; Ohene-Akoto helps bridge the gap between these sectors&period;&nbsp&semi;He has&nbsp&semi;in&nbsp&semi;the past&nbsp&semi;served as a member of the Technical Committee for the International Conference on Advance Computing and Innovative Technologies in Engineering&comma; an IEEE international conferencein Greater Noida&comma; India&period; &nbsp&semi;He has worked on a number of research projects which have been accepted in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences&period;&nbsp&semi;He&nbsp&semi;belongs to a number of professional affiliations which includes the International Associations of Engineers &lpar;IAENG&rpar; and the Ghana Institution of Engineering &lpar;GhIE&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Ing&period; Ohene-Akoto&nbsp&semi;spearheaded the World Energy Council’s Issues Monitor for Ghana in 2018&period;&nbsp&semi;In the same year&comma; herepresented the Ghana Member Committee of the World Energy Council at the World Energy Week Milan 2018 in Italy where he attended the Executive Assembly&comma; African Regional Meeting and other stakeholder meetings to contribute and engage in several discussions of Global interest&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He&nbsp&semi;was a keen member of the Ghana Taskforce that historically launched the Future Energy Leaders Ghana &lpar;FEL Ghana&rpar; in 2017 which saw Ghana’s&nbsp&semi;Minister of Energy and other relevant stakeholders in the Ghana&nbsp&semi;Energy sector coming to support the launch at the Ghana Energy&nbsp&semi;Commission&period;&nbsp&semi;He liaised with stakeholders&comma; such as ministers of state and Chief Executive Officers&comma; in the energy sector and gained their support and partnership in the launch&period;&nbsp&semi;Ing&period;&nbsp&semi;Ohene–Akoto also coordinated the procurement and production of the logistics to ensure the successful launch&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In 2018&comma;&nbsp&semi;his company&comma;&nbsp&semi;Maiseville&nbsp&semi;Groupe&nbsp&semi;Company Limited was adjudged winners of MakeInAfrica2018 contest &lpar;Off-Grid Energy Access&rpar; in Rome&comma; Italy&period; In December 2018&comma;&nbsp&semi;MaisevilleGroupe&nbsp&semi;Company Limited became&nbsp&semi;2nd runner-up in the&nbsp&semi;Youth&nbsp&semi;Connekt&nbsp&semi;contest in&nbsp&semi;Kigali&comma; Rwanda&period;&nbsp&semi;The company&nbsp&semi;came up with a product called Solar Pulse&nbsp&semi;in 2018&period; Solar Pulse is a modern day portable solar powered power hub for rural small enterprises and businesses&nbsp&semi;providing safe&comma; green&comma; affordable and reliable energy access to last mile rural population in developing countries&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He has a Master of Philosophy in Electrical and ElectronicsEngineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology &lpar;KNUST&rpar; in view&period; He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university&period; He is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of South Wales&comma;
