On Saturday 7<sup>th</sup> ;November 2020 live on ;Zoom, the ;GrandFinale of the maiden edition of 5K Challenge was held. Even though a virtual event, the finale gave the ;virtual ;audience a memorable experience. From the music, to a spoken word performance and the grand pitch competition, the top 9 who had made it to the finale after a series of workshops and an eviction, were elated to have come thus far. ;

The afternoon began with an eviction based on 30% public votes and 70% jury votes to push only 6 entrepreneurs into the grand pitch rounds of the grand finale. After a very competitive ;final round of pitches, ;Kukuwaa O. Smith (Founder of Fruition Crashed), Ruth Afi Agbozo ;(Founder of Rutela Entreprise) and Charles Katere (Founder of Eco Clean Ghana) ;emerged the proud winners who took home each the winning prize of ;Gh¢5,000 cash investment, over Gh¢ 30,000 worth of consulting package, magazine features, 6-months free of OZÉ Premium app., and further financing options.

The maiden edition of the 5K Challenge received over 440 applications from ;Ghanaian entrepreneurs who submitted their business ideas and projects they would want to start or grow with Gh¢5000. ;Only 100 were invited for a virtual 60 seconds pitch audition and subsequently, 15 lucky entrepreneurs selected to battle it out for the grand prize. ;

From all stands, the organizers Platinum Africa Solutions Limited ;(PASL) ;have done ;a great job putting this project together. According to ;Derrick S. Vormawor, the Founder of PASL and Creator of the 5K Challenge, the competition returns next year even better and bigger with improved workshops and opportunities. ;

This year’s jury members were ;Emmaline Datey, Akosua Ntiriwaa Anti and Derrick S. Vormawor, three of Ghana’s ;valued ;entrepreneurs and young business leaders ;who are shaping the future of business and entrepreneurship in the continent. ;
