Christiana Adjei Osekyerah, founder and CEO of Kinesh Creationz, is empowering people through training in bridal accessory production while building a growing venture serving brides across Ghana.

A degree holder in Psychology with Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Osekyerah developed an interest in entrepreneurship while pursuing her studies.

She had her secondary education at Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Tema, and her basic education at Tema Michael Complex School.

Osekyerah said her entrepreneurial journey began around Level 300 at the University of Ghana after she was inspired by a programme on Radio XYZ focused on becoming an exceptional person and graduate.

According to her, she initially approached a friend, Akosua Acheampong, to learn how to make fabric bags. However, after noticing changes in the market, she shifted her attention to bead-making.

She subsequently learned how to make beaded slippers and purses, advertised her products and began receiving orders.

After completing university, Osekyerah said the bead-making business gradually declined, prompting her to explore the bridal accessories industry.

Her interest in Ghanaian weddings grew after she saw a friend’s WhatsApp status featuring fabric fans. She contacted her friend for guidance and was encouraged to expand her creativity beyond the initial product.

That experience led her to begin producing bridal fans and eventually expand into other bridal accessories.

Today, Kinesh Creationz specialises in bridal fans, fascinators, bouquets, headpieces and tiaras, engagement wrapping, bridal room styling, balloon décor, gift packaging and souvenir packaging.

Beyond producing bridal accessories, the business also provides training for people interested in learning the skills required to make the products.

Osekyerah said one of the major challenges she has encountered has been access to materials, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted supplies within the accessories industry.

She noted that material shortages affected production, but said the business is gradually recovering from the difficulties.

Despite the challenges, Osekyerah considers the opportunity to serve hundreds of brides and train aspiring entrepreneurs among the major achievements of Kinesh Creationz.

She said the business has worked with more than 500 brides and trained over 100 students, some of whom have gone on to use the skills acquired to create opportunities for themselves.

For Osekyerah, the journey reflects how a university experience, willingness to learn and passion for creativity can develop into a business that serves customers while equipping others with practical skills.
