Hard work helped me build my fashion career – Henry Coffie

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Ghanaian fashion designer Henry Coffie has shared how hard work&comma; perseverance and determination helped him build a successful career in the fashion industry despite his humble beginnings&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Born in Ghana and raised in France and the United Kingdom&comma; Coffie completed his middle school education at Datus and his high school education at West Africa Secondary School &lpar;WASS&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">After completing high school in 2001&comma; he moved to France to join his mother&comma; who had been working there as a hairdresser&period; While in France&comma; Coffie assisted his mother at the salon as he explored opportunities to build a future for himself&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Coffie said he did not come from a wealthy background or have established connections in the fashion industry&period; He therefore took on several jobs to support himself and gain experience&comma; including working as a hotel receptionist&comma; street hawker and restaurant dishwasher&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">According to him&comma; those experiences taught him important lessons about people and work&comma; which later helped him in dealing with clients in the fashion industry&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">In 2017&comma; Coffie relocated to Philadelphia&comma; United States&comma; to pursue his fashion ambitions&period; He opened his first store in May of the same year and began building a client base while networking with local suit designers to deepen his understanding of the American fashion market&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His fashion brand&comma; Henry Couture Paris&comma; is now based in Philadelphia&comma; where he lives with his wife&period; The brand also works with production houses across Europe&comma; including France&comma; Italy and Turkey&period;<br><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<figure class&equals;"wp-block-image"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;mystorymagazine&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2026&sol;08&sol;photo&lowbar;2026-08-19&lowbar;12-04-12&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" class&equals;"wp-image-11107"&sol;><&sol;figure>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Coffie’s work has earned him recognition in the fashion industry&period; He received an Excellence Award from The Fashion 500 in New York and the Fashion Designer 2019 Upper Darby Philadelphia Award&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He was also listed in the Best Fashion Designer 2020 Business Hall of Fame&comma; marking another milestone in his journey from humble beginnings to establishing himself in the fashion industry&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
