I discovered something greater than circumstance: grace – Alfred Eli Kwasi Dei

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Alfred Eli Kwasi Dei&comma; a Ghanaian legal professional&comma; leadership coach and social entrepreneur&comma; has described grace as the defining force behind his journey from humble beginnings in Ayigya-Zongo in Kumasi to leadership roles on national&comma; continental and global platforms&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">According to Dei&comma; growing up in an urban poor community came with limited resources and opportunities&comma; but those circumstances did not determine the course of his life&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He said his experiences taught him an important lesson about resilience&comma; purpose and service&comma; with grace becoming the foundation that helped him overcome barriers and pursue opportunities beyond his immediate environment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I discovered something greater than circumstance&colon; GRACE&comma;” Dei said&comma; explaining that grace became his compass and helped him turn barriers into bridges and setbacks into stepping stones&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His leadership journey began taking shape at Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School &lpar;PRESEC-Legon&rpar;&comma; where exposure to books such as Richard Wright’s Black Boy and Ben Carson’s Think Big encouraged him to dream beyond his circumstances&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His interest in justice and transformation later led him to study law&comma; earning an LL&period;B&period; and an LL&period;M&period; in International Law&comma; with specialisations including trade&comma; governance&comma; investment&comma; humanitarian law and human rights&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">At the University of Professional Studies&comma; Accra &lpar;UPSA&rpar;&comma; Dei held several leadership positions&comma; including Law Students’ Union President&comma; Mooting Society President&comma; Christian Legal Fellowship President and Senate Member&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He also co-founded EyisonDeiAmoah &amp&semi; Associates&comma; a student-led law firm that recorded several national and international achievements&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">For Dei&comma; however&comma; leadership has never been about titles or recognition&period; He describes his approach as servant leadership&comma; with a strong focus on creating opportunities for others&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His leadership reached a continental level when he served as International President of the Federation of African Law Students &lpar;FALAS&rpar;&comma; helping expand the organisation to 42 African countries&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">During his tenure&comma; he also supported mentorship initiatives that reached more than 500 law students and facilitated partnerships with international organisations and legal institutions&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Dei currently serves as High Commissioner for the FALAS Alumni Commission&comma; while also contributing to business development and international partnerships&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He is Co-founder of Nexa Growth Africa and Head of Global Affairs and Partnerships at TrybePro Consult&period; He also serves as Programs Coordinator at TAG Group and TAG Football Agency&comma; where he contributes to initiatives supporting young athletes and entrepreneurs&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His commitment to youth empowerment is also reflected in his work with the African Young Leaders Foundation &lpar;AYLF&rpar;&comma; which he co-founded&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Through the foundation&comma; Dei has mentored more than 500 young leaders across 33 African countries&comma; supporting them in areas including entrepreneurship&comma; civic engagement and corporate leadership&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He has also been involved in the African Youth Empowerment Summit &lpar;AYES&rpar;&comma; a platform that brings young Africans together to contribute to conversations around Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Through the Reformation Community&comma; his work has further supported literacy programmes for more than 1&comma;000 children and leadership training for over 500 young people&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Dei has represented his ideas on leadership and governance at international platforms&comma; including the United Nations&comma; African Union and Young Commonwealth Lawyers Conference&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He currently serves as Chief Business Development Officer at Cleva Technologies Ltd&period;&comma; where he leads global expansion initiatives&comma; including work connected to a Mastercard partnership spanning more than 150 countries&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Despite the recognition that has accompanied his career&comma; Dei maintains that his greatest measure of success is the impact he makes on other people&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He has been recognised among the Global 100 Under 40 Most Influential People of African Descent in the Humanitarian Category and named among the Top 20 Global Community Heroes by the Canadian Global Awards&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He has also received Leadership Icon Awards in Ghana&comma; a book inspired by his belief that people are shaped for purposes greater than themselves&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His journey from Ayigya-Zongo to global leadership platforms continues to reinforce his central message&colon;
