I turned my first house sale into a real estate empire – Dr James Orleans-Lindsay

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Ghanaian-British businessperson&comma; academic and philanthropist Dr James Orleans-Lindsay has revealed how the proceeds from the sale of his first house became the foundation for his growing real estate business&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Orleans-Lindsay&comma; who is the CEO of JL Properties and Executive Chairman of JL Holdings&comma; said his journey in real estate began with the construction and sale of a single property&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">According to him&comma; proceeds from that first transaction enabled him to finance the construction of two additional houses&comma; setting the stage for the expansion of his business interests&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Over the years&comma; the venture has grown into a major real estate enterprise with interests in Ghana and other parts of West Africa and Europe&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His business portfolio now covers real estate&comma; agriculture&comma; construction and consultancy&comma; with operations and investments extending to countries including Portugal and Malta&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Orleans-Lindsay has described his company as the largest inner-city development business in Ghana&comma; while outlining an ambition to establish it as a leading real estate developer across West Africa and beyond&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Beyond property development&comma; he has diversified his investments into areas including agriculture&comma; bakery and securities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He has also encouraged Ghana to broaden its agricultural focus beyond cocoa&comma; pointing to crops such as cassava and corn as having significant potential for the country&&num;8217&semi;s economic development&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Orleans-Lindsay&&num;8217&semi;s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology&comma; an MSc in Construction Management from the University of Salford and a PhD in Construction Management from the University of Hertfordshire&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He has further undertaken real estate studies at the London School of Economics and Oxford Saïd Business School&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His business success has also been accompanied by philanthropic initiatives through the Lindsay Foundation&comma; which has supported healthcare and education projects&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Among the foundation&&num;8217&semi;s initiatives is a 20-bed emergency block at Achimota Hospital&comma; as well as the provision of medical equipment&comma; renovations&comma; scholarships and educational infrastructure&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Sharing lessons from his entrepreneurial journey&comma; Orleans-Lindsay urged young entrepreneurs to remain focused on their vision&comma; work hard and trust in God&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He also advised young people to avoid comparing their progress with that of others&comma; stressing the importance of following their own entrepreneurial journey&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His experience demonstrates how a single property investment can serve as the starting point for a broader business empire when supported by reinvestment&comma; diversification and long-term vision&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph"><&sol;p>&NewLine;
