Cwesi Oteng Desmond, CEO of COD Realty &; Properties, has encouraged entrepreneurs to develop the right mindset and remain patient as they work towards achieving their business ambitions.

According to Desmond, success in business does not happen overnight, and entrepreneurs must understand that some goals require time before they can be achieved.

Desmond’s entrepreneurial journey in the real estate sector was shaped by his experience in facility management, marketing and sales.

He developed an early interest in media, marketing and public speaking while at Manya Krobo Senior High School, where he studied General Science and participated in media and journalism activities.

He later pursued Civil Engineering at Accra Technical University, where he became actively involved in student politics and event hosting.

After completing his National Service, Desmond joined Goldkey Properties as a facility officer. His role at the company exposed him to the operations of Ghana’s real estate industry.

While working at Goldkey Properties, he also volunteered to support the marketing and sales team during outdoor campaigns and events. The experience gave him valuable insight into property marketing and customer engagement.

Desmond eventually decided to leave the established company and establish COD Realty &; Properties, a move he described as part of his desire to build his own venture in the real estate sector.

However, starting the business came with challenges, particularly in attracting clients and creating visibility for the new company.

He turned to digital platforms and social media as key tools for promoting COD Realty &; Properties and reaching potential clients.

Although some friends questioned his decision to leave a major real estate company to start his own business, Desmond remained committed to his vision.

He said aspiring entrepreneurs should not become discouraged when their desired results do not come immediately, stressing that timing can play an important role in business growth.

Desmond further advised young entrepreneurs to cultivate a positive mindset and believe that their ambitions are achievable.

His journey from facility management at Goldkey Properties to establishing COD Realty &; Properties highlights how professional experience, digital marketing and perseverance can help entrepreneurs build businesses in Ghana’s competitive real estate sector.
