Responsible mining can drive Ghana’s economic development – Gabriel Kwamigah

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Entrepreneur&comma; real estate developer and philanthropist Gabriel Kwabla Tanko Kwamigah has highlighted the importance of responsible mining and entrepreneurship in contributing to Ghana’s economic development&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Kwamigah&comma; who hails from Weta in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region&comma; has built a diverse career spanning entrepreneurship&comma; real estate&comma; mining&comma; philanthropy&comma; politics and traditional leadership&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Through Sesi-Edem Company Limited&comma; he is involved in gold mining and export&comma; with a focus on responsible mining practices and the need to ensure that mining activities contribute positively to communities and the broader economy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His business interests also extend to real estate through TK Realities&comma; where he focuses on providing quality and affordable housing&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Kwamigah’s entrepreneurial activities form part of a broader vision centred on creating opportunities and addressing socio-economic challenges in Ghana&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">In 2020&comma; he established the Tanko Foundation to support initiatives in healthcare&comma; education and rural development&period; The foundation reflects his interest in using private initiatives to complement efforts aimed at improving living conditions in underserved communities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Beyond business&comma; Kwamigah has held public-sector positions at the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture&comma; giving him experience in public administration and national development&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">He has also participated actively in Ghanaian politics&comma; having contested the Ketu North parliamentary primaries in 2019 and again in 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His interests further include agriculture&comma; particularly rice farming&comma; adding another dimension to his involvement in sectors considered important to Ghana’s economic growth&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Academically&comma; Kwamigah attended Presbyterian Boys’ Senior Secondary School before pursuing studies at the University of Ghana and the Paris Graduate School of Management&period; He also holds an international certificate in Public-Private Partnerships from CITED in Kenya and is pursuing a doctorate in Public Policy and Administration&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">For Kwamigah&comma; leadership goes beyond holding positions and is fundamentally about service&comma; impact and creating opportunities for others&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">His involvement in mining&comma; real estate&comma; agriculture&comma; philanthropy and public affairs reflects his stated commitment to contributing to Ghana’s development through multiple avenues&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">As Ghana continues to seek sustainable approaches to economic growth&comma; responsible private-sector participation in areas such as mining&comma; housing&comma; agriculture and social development remains an important part of the national development conversation&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph"><&sol;p>&NewLine;
