Dr Emmanuel Obiri Addo, Director of Finance and Administration at KYEI-BEKIND Enterprise Limited, has highlighted the importance of combining business success with community development and social impact.
According to Dr Obiri Addo, true success should go beyond financial achievements to include efforts that improve the lives of people and contribute positively to society.
Born and raised in Asamankese, Dr Obiri Addo pursued studies in business before obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, an MBA in Finance and additional professional qualifications.
His professional journey began during his National Service at Unibank, now CBG, where his performance earned him an offer of permanent employment before the completion of his service.
However, he declined the opportunity and chose to return home to contribute to the family business.
He now serves as Director of Finance and Administration at KYEI-BEKIND Enterprise Limited, where he oversees financial management and contributes to the company’s sustainable growth.
Dr Obiri Addo said his approach to business is rooted in integrity, transparency, fairness and strong customer service. He also emphasises building lasting relationships rather than pursuing short-term profits
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Dr Obiri Addo founded the Me Boafo Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of BEKIND.
The foundation focuses on education, healthcare and poverty alleviation, with several initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable people and underserved communities.
Through the foundation, brilliant but underprivileged students have received support, while teachers have benefited from training programmes designed to improve educational outcomes.
The foundation has also contributed medical equipment to the Asamankese Hospital and organised health screening exercises for residents.
More than 300 people have also been supported to enrol in the National Health Insurance Scheme, helping improve access to healthcare.
In November 2022, the foundation extended its support to more than 200 widows by providing food supplies and seed capital to help them establish small businesses and improve their livelihoods.
Dr Obiri Addo’s career reflects his belief that entrepreneurship and corporate leadership can serve as tools for broader community development.
His decision to leave a potential banking career and return to the family business has allowed him to contribute to the growth of KYEI-BEKIND Enterprise Limited while pursuing initiatives focused on social welfare.
For him, business leadership is not only about generating revenue but also about creating opportunities, supporting vulnerable groups and establishing lasting value.
His philosophy places integrity and fairness at the centre of business relationships, while his philanthropic work demonstrates his commitment to translating those values into tangible community impact.
Dr Obiri Addo believes businesses and individuals can achieve meaningful success when their achievements are measured not only by profits, but also by the positive difference they make in the lives of others.
