Multi-award-winning interior and exterior designer Belle Yemofio has successfully transitioned from a 13-year career in banking into the competitive world of interior design.
Yemofio, the founder and Creative Director of EllenDavis Interior Design in Accra, has built a reputation for delivering distinctive interior and exterior design solutions while earning recognition both in Ghana and internationally.
Her journey into design was influenced by her upbringing in a creative environment. Her father was an architect, while her mother was involved in knitting and crochet, exposing her to creativity from an early age.
Despite beginning her professional career in banking, Yemofio developed a strong passion for decorating homes and sourcing unique and antique décor pieces.
Over time, her interest in design grew into a serious career ambition, eventually leading her to leave banking after more than 13 years to pursue interior design full-time.
Her decision has since yielded significant professional success, with her work earning several awards and international recognitions.
In June 2022, Yemofio received two international honours. She was recognised as Ghana’s Best Luxury Residential Interior Designer at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards in the United States.
She was also named She Achiever in Interior Design in Africa at the African Women Award organised in Egypt.
Her achievements also include being named Most Respected CEO in Interior and Exterior Design at the Ghana Industry CEO Awards in 2021.
That same year, she received the award for Most Outstanding Female in Interior Design at the Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards.
Beyond the awards, Yemofio has been featured in several international and African publications, further highlighting her growing influence within the design industry.
She also serves as a board member of DecorSign, contributing her expertise to the broader décor and design space.
For Yemofio, the greatest reward in her profession goes beyond awards and recognition. She says she finds fulfilment when clients appreciate her work and are satisfied beyond their expectations.
