Entrepreneur Jochebed Awura Adwoa Sarfo has attributed her success in business to lessons she learned from her father, Professor Emeritus Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
According to her, her father played an important role in shaping her entrepreneurial journey, teaching her about herbal medicine and business while she developed her ventures.
Speaking about the lessons that have helped her grow, Jochebed emphasised the importance of taking charge, managing time effectively and focusing on activities that generate the highest returns.
She encouraged entrepreneurs to think like leaders rather than waiting for permission, stressing that taking responsibility is essential to becoming an effective business owner.
Jochebed also highlighted networking as an important part of entrepreneurial success. She advised business owners to build and maintain relationships with people who challenge them to improve and grow.
Beyond business strategy, she shared lessons from her experience in herbal medicine and baking. She said her interest in herbal medicine allowed her to learn about herbs, their properties and traditional practices, while baking eventually developed from a hobby into a business.
She disclosed that starting and running a business came with challenges, including working alone, securing funding, staying organised and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
To overcome these challenges, she said she assessed her strengths and weaknesses, sought expert assistance, relied on personal savings and support from her parents, and established clear routines and priorities.
Jochebed further advised aspiring entrepreneurs to have clear objectives, remain focused, develop growth strategies and not be afraid to ask for help.
She noted that entrepreneurship is not an easy process, but requires patience, constant learning and the willingness to adapt.
For Jochebed, the lessons received from her father have therefore remained an important foundation in her journey as an entrepreneur.
