Amb. Didi Nwala Awachie, a Nigerian network marketing professional and top consultant at La Buena Vida Project, has shared her journey from working in radio to building a successful career in the network marketing industry.
Awachie, an award-winning business connector, said her decision to change career paths was driven by the desire to build a more impactful and financially rewarding life.
According to her, although she did not come from extreme financial hardship, she was never satisfied with simply maintaining a comfortable life. She said she wanted to create a life that would allow her to make a meaningful impact on others.
However, Awachie noted that being an introvert initially made it difficult for her to reach out and pursue some of the opportunities she desired.
She began her professional journey in radio but soon became concerned about her financial prospects. After about a year, she said she realised that continuing in the field while earning less than $40 a month could leave her working hard without achieving the financial stability she wanted.
“I refused to work hard and remain broke,” Awachie said, explaining the realisation that prompted her to chart a new path.

She subsequently ventured into network marketing and spent six years with Empowered Consumerism, where she built a team of more than 45,000 people.
Awachie said she also mentored more than 1,000 people who successfully went on to build their own teams. Her achievements earned her recognition as a top leader and the rank of Global Ambassador at the company.
Today, she describes herself as a professional network marketer serving at the highest level of the industry while working to raise standards within the sector.
Her focus, she said, is not only on her personal success but also on helping others improve their finances and lifestyles through what she describes as the Connected Economy.
Awachie said her broader goal is to demonstrate the possibilities available in network marketing and help position the industry among lucrative avenues for wealth creation.
She also hopes to mentor more people to “live by design” and pursue the level of success they can achieve through the right guidance, discipline and opportunities.
